Fact Sheet 1
I was asked the question,
“What can I do to improve my time management?”
Time management is one of those subjects that is very much an individual thing. Some will have no management of time and others will have some and then there are some that have very good time management. The question then is how to improve what you are doing. I could give you a vast array of ideas but that’s the subject of a full work shop!
Here is one thing you can do that would be very effective.
Consider all the routine tasks you do and list them as daily, weekly and monthlyTake the daily list and see if you could do them once a week, ask yourself ‘would it matter to the business’ if the answer is NO the next question is ‘if I did them once a week would that save time’
The example I can give you is invoicing: -
I have worked with business that invoice as soon as possible. The result is three or four times a week they open up the computer program create the invoice, print off the copy and email or post off to the client. Then pull out the ring binder and file the copy invoice. Each time it took 20 minutes this means they were spending one hour a week on invoicing I got them to do the invoicing once a week and Hey Presto doing all three together only took 30 minutes!
So have a look at you lists and see what you can condense to weekly from daily (or adhoc) Once you have done the daily list try the weekly list see what can be done monthly.
Let me know how you get on.
